Council is embarking on preparation of a new waste strategy. This will address a broad range of issues including bin sizes and collection frequency, hard waste, green waste and recycling services in rural and urban areas, operations of transfer stations, and more.
A Steering Committee has been established to assist in developing the strategy and will hold its first meeting Tuesday 27 June 2017.
The steering committee will meet approximately monthly to develop the details of the engagement process to capture the community’s views regarding the waste strategy, identify and assess options for changes to the provision of waste services, and through this, assist in the development of the draft strategy to present to Council.
