Council is embarking on preparation of a new waste strategy. This will address a broad range of issues including bin sizes and collection frequency, hard waste, green waste and recycling services in rural and urban areas, operations of transfer stations, and more.
A Steering Committee will be established to assist in developing the detailed engagement process and the strategy itself.
Nominations are sought from the following categories - Horsham residents x 2, Natimuk resident x 1, rural residents x 2 (farms or smaller towns), community group representative x 1, and other interested people (up to 2).
The steering committee will meet approximately monthly to develop the details of the engagement process to capture the community’s views regarding the waste strategy, review and assess options for changes to the provision of waste services, and through this, assist in the development of the draft strategy to present to Council.
Applications are sought up to 24 April, and should include your name and contact details, which category you are nominating for, and a brief outline of why you are nominating and / or how you believe you will be able to help Council in the preparation of the strategy.
