  • Delivering a co-ordinated response, in partnership with Wimmera Development Association and Grampians Tourism and other stakeholders
  • Encouraging our community to buy locally and supporting our businesses
  • Working closely with businesses to better understand the impact and opportunities

Financial Help

There is extensive government and organisation support available and we would encourage business owners to investigate what is available to them and discuss with their financial advisors.

State Government

The Victorian Government has launched the $500 million Business Support Fund to support small businesses in the sectors hit hardest by the pandemic so they can survive and keep people in work. 

Federal Government

The Federal Government has announced a range of measures to support businesses and protect jobs including cash flow assistance, support for business investment, the Coronavirus SME Guarantee Scheme, JobKeeper Payment and support for workers and households.

Rural Financial Counselling

Rural Financial Counselling Service is a free planning and support service. It provides information on financial and legal matters for farms and rural businesses and families.


Victorian Small Business Commission is a mediation service and it deals with rent matters in response to COVID-19.

Local businesses operators who lease Council properties can apply for rental assistance.
