Council has a large number of policies including administrative, human resources and occupational health & safety to ensure compliance with legislation, new court decisions, respond to stakeholder concerns and facilitate Council strategies.

Under section 41 of the Local Government Act 2020, Council is required to adopt and maintain a policy in relation to the reimbursement of expenses for Councillors and members of delegated committees.

Council reports the details of Councillor expense reimbursements in the Annual Report. Expenses are categorised separately as child care, communications, conferences and seminars, development and training, entertainment, memberships, IT equipment, transportation, travel and accommodation and other costs.
