Horsham Rural City Council is reminding residents of the correct time to put their bins out.

To ensure a safe and efficient collection and avoid bins being missed, residents and businesses are requested to place bins on the kerb by 6am on their normal day of collection.

Infrastructure Director John Martin said people who didn’t have the bins out by 6am risked having their collection missed.

“We have many residents who track the time of day that their bins are emptied and are in the habit of placing their bins on the kerbside just before they believe the truck is due to come,” Mr Martin said.

“But impending changes to the routes that our drivers take across Horsham and Natimuk will mean trucks may now come at different times.

“Our advice is to always have your bin out either by 6am on collection days or the night before,” he said.
