A new and improved online form has made it easier for people to organise lawful events in the Wimmera.

Horsham Rural City Council (HRCC) has reviewed and revised its event notification process which is mandatory for all events that are held Crown Land or require Council services.

The Wimmera is home to a range of fantastic parks, open spaces and community halls that are available for people to enjoy and HRCC actively encourages events to be held on land owned or managed by Council.

The review, involving community event organisers, emergency services and Council officers, highlighted the need to simplify the online application form process.

It now has a series of questions for event organisers to answer “yes” to for any Council services that are required to ensure the delivery of a successful event.

The Event Notification Form can be found on the HRCC website along with useful resources for people planning an event.

Council offers assistance to event organisers via the Horsham and Grampians Visitor Information Centre located at 20 O’Callaghan Parade.

Staff will provide support seven days a week between 9am and 5pm to help event organisers lodge their applications.

Bookings can be made by contacting the Visitor Information Centre on (03) 5382 1832.
