Horsham Rural City Council is seeking community members that are passionate about public art to join the Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC).

Council has a proud history of supporting public art and the new Committee will continue to drive Council’s strategic vision and agenda by providing considered advice.

Mayor Cr Pam Clarke said the PAAC was essential to advocate for high quality public art that reflected the Horsham community.

People interested in joining PAAC must live and/or work within the Horsham Rural City Council, be over 18. They also need to be interested in engaging with a broad range of community views and be available to attend bimonthly meetings.

Director of Community Services, Kevin O’Brien said this was a great opportunity to help guide public art within the Horsham municipality and support our shared sense of place and identity as a community.

“If you are an artist, community member or represent an organisation and are interested in joining the PAAC, we want to hear from you. It’s a great opportunity to work with Council and community members to optimise the role of public art and integrated aesthetic design within our vibrant community,” Mr O’Brien said.

People interested in joining the PAAC should complete an Expression of Interest Form(DOC, 48KB) and email it to arts@hrcc.vic.gov.au by 5pm on Monday April 9, 2018.  All applicants will be notified of the outcome by May 2018.
