Recycling Information

Andy Van At Horsham Transfer Station For Recycling Week

What can be recycled?

Sustainability Victoria has some excellent guides on general recycling.

There is lots of good information on what to do with your household waste, unwanted furniture or other household items, what you can to do with food or garden waste, this site makes your household recycling easier to understand.

What can I place in my recycling bin?

There are a number of items that are easily recycled, below is a list of what can go in Horsham's yellow lid wheelie bin, just as important is to reduce contamination in the recycling bin, see the list below for what doesn't go in the bin.

Contamination is one of the biggest issues in the local recycling program, contaminated loads are directly sent to landfill rather than being recycled, this means that the community ends up paying for recycling to go to landfill!

To further understand recycling and reducing waste take a look at the Sustainability Victoria Website.
