Horsham’s Skate Park buzzed with excitement at the weekend as the Horsham Youth team welcomed Shredability for a Scooter and BMX Competition.
Despite the absence of skateboard competitors, the event was a resounding success, featuring an additional scooter event to keep the energy high.
The day was coordinated by Shredability founder and former world champion Renton Millar, who oversaw the judging and awarded medallions and prizes to the top competitors.
Millar, who served as a head judge at the Paris Olympics in July, brought his expertise and enthusiasm to the event.
Adding to the excitement was the presence of newly crowned World Junior Scooter champion Taj Shambrook. Shambrook served as a guest judge for the under-14 and open scooter competitions, inspiring young athletes with his achievements.
About 20 competitors showcased their skills in the Scooter and BMX events, competing in both the 14 and under and open categories. The competition drew a crowd of 50 spectators, who cheered on the participants and enjoyed the thrilling performances.
The Rotary Club of Horsham East provided a delicious sausage sizzle, ensuring that everyone stayed well-fed throughout the day.
The event highlighted the strong community spirit in Horsham and the dedication of the Horsham Youth team. With the support of organizations like Shredability and the Rotary Club, the competition was a fantastic success, promising more exciting events for Horsham’s young athletes in the future.
