Information Privacy

Horsham Rural City Council is committed to preserving people's rights to privacy.

To allow Council to provide services to our community, we are required to collect and use personal, confidential and sensitive information from people. We are committed to preserving people's rights to privacy and information provided will be retained for Council use only. This information will not be disclosed unless required by law, or if consent from the person is provided.

Horsham Rural City Council's Privacy Statement outlines our commitment to ensuring that the personal information collected, stored and used by Council is handled in a responsible manner, and in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014. The Act contains 10 Information Privacy Principles that regulate how personal information should be handled. Information about each of these principles and how they will be handled by Council are outlined in our Information Privacy Policy.
