Horsham Rural City Council advises that pruning of street trees is currently being undertaken in Horsham.

Infrastructure Services Director John Martin said the trimming was necessary to maintain minimum clearances under power lines.

“We are working to a minimum of one metre of clearance plus an allowance for regrowth over the next year,” Mr Martin said.

“This is something we have been doing for many years and it is necessary to maintain the public’s safety.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and remind the public these works are necessary,” he said.

The works are due to be completed by the end of May.

Residents who would prefer a tree on their nature strip was not re-shaped or who would like more information about the plans to prune trees can contact the Operations Manager on 5382 9610.
