Proposed Acquisition of 17A Roberts Ave, Horsham (Wesley Property)
Pursuant to section 112 of the Local Government Act 2020, Horsham Rural City Council (Council) gives notice of its intention to purchase the Wesley Property from Wesley Performing Arts and Cultural Centre Incorporated (Wesley) for a purchase price of $1.00. Following the proposed acquisition, Council intends to restore the Wesley Property, having previously resolved to make a funding allocation of $2,280,000.00 for the restoration, subject to the acquisition.
The future of the Wesley Property has been informed through previous community engagement activities, strategic planning processes, and Council decision-making. Having regard to these processes, Council considers that the proposed acquisition is consistent with the strategic direction previously identified, considered, and communicated to the community.
