Council Highlights Community-Driven Economic Momentum in Report

Horsham Rural City Council has released its Investment, Attraction & Growth Report (May–June 2025), showcasing significant achievements in local enterprise growth and riverfront activation. The report highlights how the Council’s pop-up Riverfront Meeting Place continues to foster new business opportunities and strengthen community connection.
During the last quarter, two innovative local food enterprises—Mr Chef and Spuddy Good—successfully transitioned from mobile food trucks to permanent CBD venues. This growth was nurtured by Council’s launch of the pop-up riverfront café site, providing an affordable, high-visibility platform for fledgling businesses to test and refine their offerings.
In June, Council held the first of two seasonal Winter Warmers events at the Riverfront Meeting Place. These winter-themed community gatherings offered food trucks, warming beverages, live music, fire pits, and lawn games—creating a lively and inclusive space even during the cooler months.
“Seeing two of our small local businesses thrive and move into their own shops makes me so proud. Our Riverfront pop‑up and Winter Warmers have shown just how alive and creative Horsham can be. The last quarter feels like a celebration of community — and it’s only the beginning,” said Mayor Cr Ian Ross
Council acknowledges the resilience and innovation of local entrepreneurs and the enthusiasm of residents, who together are breathing new life into the CBD and riverfront precincts. The achievements of the last quarter reinforce the Council’s commitment to responsive, community-first planning—where place, opportunity, and support come together to create lasting impact.
