A miniature Shih-Tzu injured in a car accident that almost killed its owner is making a good recovery in the hands of Horsham Rural City Council.
The little dog was displaced after she and her owner, both from interstate, where involved in a near fatal accident in the municipality recently. Since then Fluffy has been in the care of one of the Community Safety Team members while the owner deals with medical issues in Melbourne. The attached photo was taken to update the family on Fluffy’s welfare and these updates have been happening almost daily since she came into care. HRCC is hoping the owner and dog will be able to be reunited in the not too distant future. Council sometimes hears its team being accused of having a lack of care towards animals. But that is far from the truth. This tale also shows the importance of having animals restrained in vehicles to ensure their safety.
