Natimuk Road Kindergarten has received a grant boost heading into 2021.

By successfully applying for Horsham Rural City Council’s Community Development Grants Program, the kinder was able to complete four new upgrades.

“We like the upgrades so much. In fact, the fence screens work so well that we’ve decided to extend them further around the Kinder,” said Kylie Donnell, teacher at Natimuk Road Kindergarten.

The fence screens are attached to the original fencing panels, providing a taller barrier between the kinder and their neighbours.

“Balls were constantly sneaking next door. We’re lucky enough to have a lovely couple as neighbours, but I’m sure they love the fence screens too,” she said.

Through the grants program, Natimuk Road Kindergarten was also able to purchase and fit out secure outdoor storage, and tint the window overlooking their outdoor play pit; reducing glare in summer and temperature variations throughout the seasons.

“The additions we were able to make thanks to the grant have been very well utilised. We couldn’t imagine life without them actually,” Ms Donnell said.

Entries for the HRCC’s Community Development Grants Program are open now until Monday March 1.
