Acclaimed artist Alice Skye is coming to Horsham for a concert at the Sawyer Park’s Soundshell this December. The event is produced by leading live music promoters Live Nation, as part of their Homegrown Regional Concert series.

Horsham local and Wergaia woman, Alice Skye shot to national stardom when she won the 2017 Triple J Unearthed Indigenous award.

Horsham Rural City Council is proud to host this live music event and intends on hosting more concerts by Australian artists at Sawyer Park.

With upcoming works to develop an events stage at City Oval, the municipality will have an increased capacity to host events such as this.

HRCC is supporting this concert which is part of a larger state-funded initiative. Council recognises the importance of celebrating the success of Horsham-grown artists such as Alice and also offering the community a great live music experience.

Cr Robyn Gulline commended the success of Alice as a singer songwriter and welcomed the Hometown Regional Concert Series to Horsham.

“It will be great to see a local Indigenous artist headlining a concert in Horsham. Along with the other artists involved this is sure to be a fantastic event,” she said.

“We are very grateful that we will host a performance as part of the regional series. Next year we will begin works to develop a modern and impressive stage at City Oval. These works will bring more opportunities for live music events to be hosted in our regional city,” Cr Gulline said.

The free concert will take place on Saturday 10 December and will commence at 1pm and will conclude at 5pm. It is an alcohol free and family friendly event.
