In a bid to engage Horsham families with young children these school holidays, the Kalkee Road Children’s Hub Supported Playgroup team are calling out for some friends for their new scarecrow.

The scarecrow has been placed in the car park garden at the Kalkee Road Children’s Hub and families have the opportunity to make some small scarecrow friends for it.

The supported playgroup team have prepared a kit with spoon and decoration supplies so that children can make their own spoon scarecrows.

They can then either place them in the garden with the big scarecrow, or take a photo and send it in to the Supported Playgroup team.

Families are also encouraged to guess what the big scarecrow will be dressed as each week. This week, it is dressed as a healthcare worker.

For those interested to see how the big scarecrow was made, Sarah from the Playgroups team has also made a video showing the process. It is available to watch on the HRCC Playgroups Facebook page.

Keen spoon scarecrow makers can sign up to have a scarecrow making pack delivered to their home by visiting the HRCC Playgroups Facebook page, or texting 0427 532 856.
