At the Additional Council Meeting on Thursday, 4 September, Councillors discussed interim arrangements regarding the appointment of an Acting Mayor. Due to personal circumstances, Mayor Cr Ian Ross will need to take some periods of leave from official duties. It is necessary for Council to have a Councillor take on the responsibility of the Mayoral duties, Council has resolved to appoint Cr Brian Klowss as Acting Mayor during the Mayor’s absence. This interim arrangement will ensure that key responsibilities, including chairing meetings, attending public events, and representing Council in official matters are maintained without interruption. Council extends its support to Cr Ross during this time.
