An Important Message For Fire Affected Residents

At 3:48pm on Sunday 11 January 2026, Vic Emergency issued the following Watch and Act message

“Watch and Act message is being issued for East Natimuk, Grass Flat, Natimuk, Quantong, Vectis, Vectis East, Vectis South.

- The fire in the Natimuk, Quantong and Vectis area is now contained.

- Firefighters, Emergency Services and Powercor continue to work on the fire, treatment of fire affected trees and repair of powerlines.

- Residents should stay alert for dangerous trees and electrical hazards.

- The Wimmera Highway is open from 3pm today, 11th January 2026, for all traffic through Natimuk.

- All local roads remain closed to residents and all other traffic due to safety concerns regarding fallen powerlines and hazardous trees. This Watch and Act message replaces the Watch and Act issued at 11am Sunday 11th January 2026.

- While the threat is reduced, there is still active fire in the area.

The situation can change at any time. You must monitor conditions and be ready to act.
