Horsham is a finalist in the Keep Victoria Beautiful 2019 Tidy Towns – Sustainable Communities Awards.

Keep Victoria Beautiful will be visiting the Horsham Rural City Council to present them with the community’s finalist and participation certificates.

Horsham Tidy Towns Committee Chairperson Gillian Tidy Towns Gillian Vanderwaal said the awards were a chance to recognise the tireless work of volunteers.

“The dedication and passion of our local volunteers is often quietly done, but through their hard work and commitment our town is a better place to live,” Ms Vanderwaal said.

“Many Volunteers are humble about what they do, not looking for personal accolades.”

Keep Victoria Beautiful chief executive Sabina Wills said she was impressed with the level of local community participation in the Tidy Towns – Sustainable Communities Awards.

“These awards are a great way to celebrate the good work that occurs all year round in our communities,” Ms Wills said.

“Often this work goes unnoticed and unrewarded, so this is an opportunity to acknowledge the valuable contributions that have been made by individuals and groups. We are proud of our town and the work the community has done to make it a better place to live, work and play.”

The Tidy Towns – Sustainable Communities Awards Night will be held 26 October 2019 in Dimboola, where winners of each award will be announced.
