Preparedness Expo
The community is invited to come together for a day of connection, information, entertainment and family-friendly fun when Natimuk hosts the Preparedness Expo on Sunday 4 October 2026.
Businesses and organisations are encouraged to secure a free stall site by completing the registration form below.
Everyone is welcome to attend, whether or not they have been impacted by recent events. This free community event will run from 10am to 2pm at the Natimuk Showgrounds.
Visitors can enjoy food vans, face painting, giant games, a colouring competition, and a wide range of stalls offering practical advice, services and support to help individuals and families prepare for emergencies.
Do you own a fully equipped firefighting unit or trailer? Bring it along and enter our Show 'n Shine Competition. Show off your rig, compare ideas with fellow enthusiasts, and go in the running to win a prize.
Don't have your own unit? No problem. Emergency management specialists and industry experts will be on hand to provide advice and demonstrate equipment, helping you understand what you need to better prepare your property and family.
The Natimuk Agricultural and Pastoral Society will also be on site providing a free sausage sizzle for attendees.
Learn How to Prepare for Emergencies
The Preparedness Expo will help residents better prepare for emergencies and disasters such as fire and flood by providing opportunities to:
- Learn how to prepare your family, property and pets for an emergency.
- Get assistance to complete an emergency preparedness plan.
- Meet local emergency service personnel.
- Learn about the roles of agencies such as CFA, VICSES, Victoria Police, Red Cross and others during emergencies.
- View emergency equipment demonstrations and, in some cases, try the equipment yourself.
As an added bonus, attendees will go into the draw to win a valuable emergency preparedness kit.
The event is free to attend and open to everyone across the region and beyond.
The Preparedness Expo 2026 is proudly hosted by Horsham Rural City Council in partnership with Emergency Management Victoria and the Victorian Government.
Stall Holders Wanted
Local businesses, community groups and organisations that provide products, services, expertise or advice related to emergency preparedness, resilience and recovery are encouraged to register for a free stall site.
