Art Matters all abilities participants are completing final preparations ahead of next month’s Art Is… Festival.

The group’s main festival event Winter Showing provides the local performers equal access to express their distinct talents for the stage.

It launches on Monday 4 June at Jubilee Hall from 5.30pm and is on exhibition until Friday 9 June.

Winter Showing will also feature a silent art auction, with Artz ConneXion artists placing their key works up for public sale. Bidding will open at the launch and continue throughout the week between 12pm and 2pm.

Dancers from another Art Matters project called Shake N Groove will be mashing it up at the Inaugural Dance Affair. Tickets are available from the Horsham Town Hall for the three performance nights.

Soap Box Theatre performers will also perform pop up theatre around town throughout the festival.

Director Community Services, Kevin O’Brien said, participants had been working hard to prepare for the festival and were excited to display the visual arts and performance works to the community.

“Horsham has a vibrant art and cultural scene and Arts Matters provides opportunities for all of the community to be actively involved,” Mr O’Brien said.

“Winter Showing is a great chance for local artists to either perform or exhibit their work as part of a larger festival.”

The Art Is… Festival runs from 1 June to 10 June.  It's the 23rd year that the annual art and culture festival has been held in Horsham. It celebrates cultural diversity in the Wimmera community in a way that is inclusive and fun.
