It is time to recognise some of the community’s unsung leaders and achievers through the Horsham Rural City Council Australia Day Awards Ceremony.

The next group of award recipients will be announced during a service at the Australia Day ceremony at Sawyer Park on Sunday 26 January 2020.

More information on how to nominate

Applications are now open until Monday 2 December 2019.

HRCC is on the lookout for the next:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year

The 2020 leaders and achievers in the municipality will join a growing list of local heroes. The nominees for each award are based on community submissions and are then recommended to Council by the Australia Day Committee.

This year’s joint Citizen of the Year winner Jeff Pekin said the awards gave recipients a tremendous sense of pride.

“We are very fortunate in Horsham to have so many great volunteers in the community,” Mr Pekin said.

“So come one, let’s all make an effort and start nominating the people who deserve awards like these.”

To nominate someone, please visit our Australia Day Submission online form or pick up a paper copy from the Civic Centre.
